Peter describes woodworking as both therapy and gift in recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). “I’ve grown more patient and pay more attention to details since my concussions. Sanding and polishing wood is a fitting metaphor for TBI recovery. Time and effort are rewarded as slowly the wood’s inner subtleties emerge. My skills grow, positive traits return and confidence returns.”

The Phoenix adorns my key chain as a symbol of resilience and creativity

The phoenix, a mythical bird that is consumed by flames then reborn from the ashes of its demise resonates; symbolic of my journey.
